Sebastian Weber was born 1985 in Schaffhausen, Switzerland. He is based in Warsaw, works internationally and gained work experience during the last years in Poland, Turkey, China, India, Cuba, Israel, and the USA. He finished his Bachelor in Film from Zurich University of the Arts in 2011.
From 2009-2012, he participated at various workshops of the FOCAL foundation in Switzerland.
He pursued his Master degree in Cinematography at the Polish National Film School at Lodz from 2012-2018. The films he shot as cinematographer were screened and awarded at numerous film festivals around the world, amongst Berlinale, Palms Springs, First Steps Awards, Camerimage, IDFA and many more. In Mai 2018 he celebrated the premiere of his directional debut with his documentary “The Guest” at the 58th Krakow Film Festival.
The film got awarded at the 16th Doclisboa Film Festival 2018 for the Best short film and won the Jury Award in the International Competition by the Portuguese Authors Society.
