Until Luis was 18 years old, lived and completed High School in Lisbon, São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, and London. 
He took professional Studies;
Directing  for  TV – Morley College, London- BBC Training 1986
Four Workshops for Directors of Photography – Internacional Workshops Maine U.S.A. 1990    
Cineon and SFX Workshop – European Film School – Denmark 1996

Through shooting Features and Commercials, he has filmed in 31 countries altogether, and at the present moment and since 2011, he is lecturing Cinematography for The Film Degree at Universidade Lusofona - Lisbon in the form of annual workshops of three days.

 

He is a very well-known Cinematographer, he has many awards for the Feature film and TV series he photographed and he worked in more than 100 commercials.
